After hors d’oeuvres and time to reconnect, we’ll dive into WHAMI 2.0 — a dynamic networking activity designed to spark meaningful connections and set the tone for a fantastic conference. Whether you’re a returning veteran of the Catholic Media Conference or a first-time attendee, WHAMI gives you the chance to meet, mingle and share “Who Am I?” moments with your peers in Catholic media.

Cardinal John P. Foley Award Presentation Luncheon, sponsored by EWTN Global Catholic Television Network, followed by keynote panel, “Catholic Media as Bearers of Truth: Evangelization, Integrity and the Digital Age.”
In an era of rapid technological advancements and shifting cultural narratives, Catholic media plays a crucial role in upholding truth, fostering evangelization, and serving the Church. This keynote panel brings together distinguished leaders in Catholic media to explore the evolving landscape of Catholic journalism and communications. Moderated by Montse Alvarado (President & COO, EWTN News), the panel includes Gretchen R. Crowe (Editor-in-Chief, OSV News) and James Rogers (Chief Communications Officer, U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops).
Drawing from key Church teachings on media and evangelization, this discussion will address:
The mission of Catholic communicators in spreading the Gospel while maintaining journalistic integrity.
The challenges of misinformation, polarization and credibility in today’s media environment.
The rise of artificial intelligence in journalism — its opportunities, ethical concerns and implications for Catholic media.
The role of Catholic journalists in reporting difficult stories with courage and fairness.
How the Church can support and empower Catholic media professionals in fulfilling their mission.
As Catholic communicators navigate these complex issues, this conversation will offer insights into how they can remain faithful, bold, and effective in a fast-changing digital world.
